Transportation
The most common way to reach Playa Grande from Tamarindo is by taking a short water taxi across the estuary. These small boats operate frequently throughout the day and offer a quick and convenient way to cross. Alternatively, you can drive around the estuary, which takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Be aware that the roads can be bumpy and unpaved in some areas. Buses also run from Tamarindo to Huacas, from where you can take a taxi or walk to Playa Grande.
